Biography:
Armund-Claude Mollet was a member of a family of artists. He was the first French architect to design functional and proportional homes that were comfortable and also the first to arrange dining rooms close to kitchens and bathrooms near the bedrooms. Mollet became the Maitre des Jardins at the Louvre in 1668 and was made a first-class member of the Academie Royale d’Architecture in 1718. Mollet’s most famous work was the Hotel d’Evreux in Paris done in 1718, once owned by Madame de Pompadour.
