Biography: The anonymous artist, Master of Jean Rolin II, was an illuminator based in Paris. He created books for multiple aristocratic patrons, including many for the court of Charles VII. He received his name based on the number of manuscripts that he created for Jean Rolin II. The artist probably was trained in Flanders, Paris, or Burgundy. He collaborated on several books, including the Hours of Simon de Varie, from 1445 to 1565.
