Upon his return to Munich, Cuvillies was appointer court architect of Bavaria and was responsible for decorating staterooms at the Residenz and the Amalienberg pavilion at the Nymphenberg palace. He published fifty-five books of interior decoration designs for wall paneling, ceilings, furniture, and wrought-iron work between 1738 and 1756.
