Biography:
Born in Canada, Paul-Emile Borduas began as a decorator, working under Ozias Leduc. He then studied in Paris and began to experiment with the Surrealist technique of automatism, joining the group Les Automatistes. From 1953 to 1955, Borduas lived in Paris where he eventually died of a heart attack.
